It’s unusual to see a hippo out of the water mid morning so when we spotted this one in the Mara Triangle, we placed the remote-controlled camera buggy ahead of it on the path it was on. It stopped a couple of metres away from the buggy and after a short inspection, detoured around it and headed back to the water.
