This image captured the public’s attention after being been published in newspapers across Australia and the UK.
It was taken on a monopod, the item of choice when we want to achieve a low angle when it is not possible to get out of the vehicle or use the remote-controlled buggy. The monopod allowed us to put the camera in front of an inquisitive sub-adult lion without endangering ourselves.
