About Nicholas
Nicholas, who was born in Montreal, Canada in June 1995, joined Williams in 2020 after finishing 2nd in the 2019 F2 championship. His first race with Williams was in Austria, 2020 where he finished 11th, his equal best result of the season and in 2021 he enjoyed back to back points finishes in Hungary and Belgium.
The Canadian driver was one of the tallest drivers on the grid, a centimetre shorter than the tallest and equal heaviest at 73kg with Lewis Hamilton and Alex Albon.
He copped some ridiculous online abuse after he crashed late in the 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix that subsequently provided Max Verstappen with the chance to overtake Lewis Hamilton for the world championship.
While many point to Nicholas being a mere “pay driver”, there is no doubt he was passionate about, and focused on the sport and was often one of the first drivers to arrive at the track each weekend.
In 2023, Nicholas announced he was putting his racing career on hold.
