About Mick

Mick Schumacher began his career in karting in 2008 at the age of 8 and in 2015, progressed to the German ADAC Formula 4. He won the 2018 FIA F3 European Championship before stepping up to F2 in 2019 and winning that championship in 2020.
He is the son of seven-time Formula One World Champion Michael Schumacher and nephew of Ralf Schumacher so his pedigree is unquestionable. The Swiss-born German driver drove for US based team Haas under the German flag and clearly outclassed his team mate in 2021 finishing ahead of him 16 times.
Mick was often the first driver to arrive at the track and one of the last to leave. Unusually, he became the 2022 reserve driver for two teams, Ferrari and Alfa Romeo.
In 2023, Mick was the reserve driver for both Mercedes and McLaren – he left both teams in 2024.
At the track, Mick was often seen with fellow countryman Sebastian Vettel who took him under his wing. Prior to the start of the 2017 Belgian Grand Prix, he drove his father’s championship-winning Benetton B194 around the Spa circuit.
