Rumors are swirling that Angela Cullen might be reuniting with Lewis Hamilton in Formula One, and it’s certainly a juicy prospect. Angela has been a fan favorite, and her potential return has piqued interest across the motorsport community. But what’s the story behind these rumors, and is there any truth to them?
Hamilton and Cullen: A Dynamic Duo
A few days ago, Lewis Hamilton shared a picture of himself skiing in Colorado, and coincidentally, so did Angela Cullen, his former physio. Angela was spotted wearing a red jacket, which many are interpreting as a nod to Ferrari. Fans quickly noticed a number 44 sign in the background, which is Hamilton’s race number. This has led to speculation that they were at the same resort and could be clues pointing toward Angela’s return to Lewis’s side.
Angela was with Lewis from 2015 until the first race of 2023, when they announced their professional split through synchronized social media posts after the Abu Dhabi race. The reasons behind this parting remain somewhat of a mystery, but their working relationship was widely regarded as highly effective.
After Angela’s departure, Steve Lord took over many of her responsibilities at the track. In 2024, Kylie Tomich stepped in as Lewis’s physio and trainer. I had a conversation with Kylie a couple of months ago, and she confirmed that she would be joining Lewis at Ferrari. This makes the current rumors about Angela’s return even more surprising.
Fan Speculation and Media Buzz
The source of these rumors seems to be the dedicated fans, often referred to as “fan detectives.” They have a knack for finding clues and connections that the average person might overlook. The buzz has been amplified by several British newspapers reporting on the speculation, echoing what many fans are already discussing.
Since leaving Lewis, Angela has been working with Marcus Armstrong, an IndyCar driver from New Zealand. I’ve reached out to Marcus and other IndyCar drivers to see if Angela would continue with him this year, but so far, I haven’t received any responses. Additionally, I’ve attempted to contact both Angela and Kylie for their insights but have yet to hear back.
Angela’s Social Media Blackout
Interestingly, as of January 14, Angela’s Instagram account was no longer accessible. It’s unclear why she took this step, but given her popularity—she had around 487,000 followers—there’s a lot of curiosity around her sudden silence. Angela was well-loved in the paddock, often receiving gifts and requests for selfies from fans. Lewis even described her as the hardest working woman he knows.
My video about Angela remains the most viewed on my channel, reflecting her significant impact on the F1 community. As it stands, we’re left to speculate whether she will be back with Lewis in 2025.
Upcoming Testing Days
The first opportunity to get clarity on this situation will come next week when Lewis Hamilton heads to Maranello for the first of four track days with Ferrari. This testing will involve a previous model car, but it’s expected that Lewis will bring along his security team and possibly his trainer or physio. As for whether it will be Angela or Kylie by his side, that remains to be seen.
Media access to the Maranello test will be restricted, with Ferrari covering the event. However, fans will have the chance to catch a glimpse of Hamilton’s first outing in a Ferrari from a nearby bridge. They can expect a packed crowd eager to witness this moment.
The Intrigue Continues
Ferrari is allowed to test for four days, with a maximum of 1,000 kilometers in a past car. Typically, they would split driving duties between their two drivers. However, this year, Hamilton will take all four days due to his recent addition to the team. The testing schedule includes one day in Maranello and three more in Barcelona at the end of the month. Given the unpredictability of weather conditions, having multiple days booked will help them choose the best time for testing.
This entire situation is highly intriguing. If Angela is indeed rejoining Lewis after nearly two years apart, it raises questions about the motives behind her social media silence and the timing of these clues. Regardless, it has certainly given Formula One fans plenty to think and talk about.
Conclusion
To recap, Hamilton and Cullen both posted similar photos while skiing, hinting at a potential reunion. Their shared experiences and Angela’s unique social media presence have everyone buzzing with excitement. The bottom line is that only time will tell who will be working with Lewis in 2025.
