A bumper edition for the British GP and it started for me yesterday afternoon with this rather provocative shot of Williams technician @billothekid in front of one of last year’s Williams cars. This morning though it was an early start and after parking in the media car park, a London double decker bus transported me and all media to the paddock in style. One of the first drivers in was Daniel Ricciardo who toasted me with this coffee. I met Lando Norris’ father Adam (below) who is the man behind Pure scooters. These electric scooters were quite a hit with both Johnny Herbert, and Max Verstappen.Next up I shot Lando Norris holding one of quite a few prints of an original painting of Lando’s no. 4 McLaren by artist David Johnson. It took the artist more than 100 hours to produce the finished product which Lando gladly signed.Out in the paddock, people were to and fro-ing. Here’s Frank Williams in nice sunshine. And here’s a rather awkward looking Carlos Sainz shaking hands with Paul Di Resta. Lando Norris found himself swapping stories with Chelsea pensioner Brian Rolfe as he made his way to the afternoon press conference. And here’s Lewis Hamilton on his way wearing a khaki coloured Tommy Hilfiger outfit.Late in the day there was some cricketing action on the pit straight with most drivers stepping up to the crease to face TV commentator David Croft off his short run-up. Daniel knocked one into the stands over mid-on. Nico wasn’t quite so adept. And Charles was completely wrong-footed.
After Daniel completed his innings (all of 3 deliveries) he retired to the couch where he made instant friends.Seb decided he wanted to shoot the t-shirt canon after he bombed out at the crease and here is the t-shirt on its way into the crowd. Afterwards he posed for pics with the fans.Oh, and if you’re in Monza for the Italian GP join me for this event.Back to Silverstone and I got this lovely shot of Charles after his time at the crease, and this bizarre one of him.On the female front, Charles’ girlfriend Giarda Gianni was in the company of Charles’ trainer Andrea Ferrari, while Pierre Gasly’s girlfriend Cate Masetti Zannini roped in Toro Rosso marketing man Edoardo Martorelli to share her shot. At day’s end I was the only photographer left in the paddock so got down on the ground to shoot Daniel and his trainer Michael Italiano leaving the track. But stayed upright for Kimi’s departure. And here’s a bonus shot of my eldest son Tyler on a bridge near Zermatt where I killed a number of days between the Austrian GP and this event. That’s all for now though, more pics, blogs and videos at kymillman.com/f1 and you can download images for personal or editorial purposes at www.prostarpics.com.
Bye for now!
